Handling Redirects after Moving a Wordpress Blog

Concerns should not be limited to the moving of the actual wordpress program files but also on finding a way to redirect visitors that may be following outdated links to an old content. After moving your wordpress blog, look into how 301 redirects can be properly handled.

A suggested way goes like this: open your .htaccess file in the directory that houses your newly moved wordpress file and edit in either your host’s file manager interface or by downloading to your local machine. Insert a line at the top that reads: redirect301/blog/http://www.yoursite.com/. Save your .htaccess file. Load your old wordpress URL to make this work.

Moving Several Posts from One Blog to Another

Moving a Wordpress Blog to Your Own Wordpress Installation

Wordpress is a platform you install on your own/hosted server and maintain the installation yourself.

The first thing to do is to install wordpress and get a hosting service. Choose one that does an automatic install of wordpress to do away with fiddling. The themes on http://wordpress.com normally have links to places you can download them from.

Now follow the instructions below for next Installation :

- First: open your browser (mozilla, firefox, explore the Internet)

- Second: open your Windows Explorer

To perform the wordpress installation in the local computer or localhost as the server, which is recorded in the need to run the program php processor and database, for later if we do wordpress installation on the online server is does not mean different things.

Before continuing the installation, sometimes there some question what is for install the localhost / local computer. and the answer is I think it so trivial.

Third because we want to create a blog to study and learn and lead the post and try to change the menu provided by the wordpress.

Then the wordpress installation of the local computer as I said above because the program of database that important, cause if it not those wordpress files with the iextention . Php can not preview in the browser. Useless, so we do edit or create a template with a text editor.  For example, and are interested in using the appserver, can use these programs to run php and mysql database. Or can also use MySql.

This is a step by step of the installation wordpress in the local computer:

First I suggest you use a text editor dreamweaver as easy as simply learned in. Then, after the program dreamweaver installed, do the installation appserver / MySql. Then minimize the window again. This is because Internet connections have disetting.

1. Open www.wordpress.com
2. Click Sign Up
3. Fill out the form
a. Username: -> name of blog content in accordance with the desire (at least four letters / numbers)
b. Password: Fill in the password / password (at least six letters / numbers)
c. Confirm: Repeat with the same password at the top.
d. Email Address: Fill in your email (if not yet have an email, make the first or yahoomail.com at gmail.com)
e. Legal flotsam: marked typing in the box provided as a sign of “agree” with the agreement.
f. Tick typing on the menu, “Gimme a blog” (usually there are already signs automatically typing here).
g. Click “Next”
h. Blog Title -> Fill in the appropriate title.
i. Language -> Select English.
j. Privacy -> Love signs typing (there is usually automatic).

4. Click Sign Up
5. A message will appear as follows:

Your account is now active!
You are now logged in as (your username).
An email with your username, password, Akismet API key and important links has been sent to your email address.
Write a post, change your template or visit the homepage.

6. That means you have a blog. Please log in to your blog.

The following address important to you:

a. To log in, go to: http://namabloganda.wordpress.com/login.php
b. Fill in the username (= blog name) and password.
c. Click the “Write” or “Compose” to start to create the post.
d. Click “Publish” or “Show”
